I know that it is a fun program. My boys love it. But, even though they score in the mid-90 percentiles, they just cannot read the same words when I put them on flashcards. My 4 year old is on Episode 23 and my 6 year old is on Episode 30. I guess I just expected more to be this far into the program.
My 30 day money back guarantee ends soon and I just can't figure out what to do.

Do you sit with them during their lessons? I know it is not meant as a child -alone program. Our experience is my son did enjoy it and came out of it reading on a solid 2nd grade level.
You may want to call their customer service with your questions. They are great with suggestions and actually encouraged us on an occasion or two to go back several lessons. My son didn't mind because I got some new stickers for him to put on. They may have different suggestions for a 4 year old versus a 6 year old too. My son was 6 when we did it.
I know nothing works for everyone but I would call them first before dropping it.

My dd seemed to get a good bit out of it. We were doing ETC and lots of reading aloud and sounding out at the same time she completed it, though, and I cannot separate which elements were most influential for her. I do know that she enjoyed the program and that it introduced a lot of words/combinations earlier than she would have gotten them with other programs, and that made her feel really confident and excited when she came across them in reading other things. My ds is doing well with it. He's on lesson 33. He reads the Sprout stories. He still makes mistakes when reading them to me but he's making progress. So far I've had him repeat one lesson.
