Doc prescribed it but we are getting awfully close to the 48 hour limit. Would it be worth it to have the prescription filled? And idea how much it costs?

It also causes major stomach upset...
My dd15 came down with the flu on a Monday and started taking Tamiflu on Tuesday. By Thursday her flu symptoms were gone--so it DID cut down the duration--but she was VERY miserable on Wednesday due to the side effects...lots of throwing up and diarrhea.
Our insurance covered the meds--but it was at the 'top tier' price. I'm pretty sure it is over $100 per person.
I'm not sure if I would take it...but dd was MISERABLE with flu symptoms--and I could not imagine her having them for 10 days! I asked her and she said that it was worth it--but next time tell her what to expect (1 day of being stomach sick vs another week of the flu).

My husband just finished a round of this and he was towards the 48hr mark when he started it but it did help tremendously! It sure cut down on the length of the flu. Our insurance covered it without any problem.

It helped here, but 2 kids out of 4 did have some throwing up as a result of it.
Ours was $50 a person out of pocket.

I love Tamiflu! My boys used it a couple of years ago and it was amazing! They started feeling better within 12 hours. Of course, the flu went its course and lasted 4 days or so, but most of that was fatigue and weakness.....not the misery they saw at the start of the flu.
We had to pay $55 per prescription w/insurance. It was expensive but worth it.
