Thank you for the advice about Analytical Grammar!

Just wanted to thank all of you who responded to my inquiry about Analytical Grammar. I just ordered it for my dd who is entering 6th grade this year. It really seems like it will be a good fit for us...... as a former 7th grade English teacher myself, I'm really a stickler for a strong grounding in grammar, both parsing and diagramming sentences.

Anyway, to everyone and especially Sue in St. Pete, thank you for talking me into spending the cash!

I hope you enjoy AG. It has been a true goldmine here. I can only compare it to Shurley 5, which cost $70, took much, much more of my time and my child's time and didn't teach nearly as concisely what AG teaches. Yes, Shurley taught things like how to make a noun plural, homonyms, and had writing "instruction". But, we learned more grammar in the first 10 weeks of AG than in the entire year of Shurley. And, I liked Shurley Grammar!
