We are looking for a rental cottage along the ocean north of Boston. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Oh, we lived in Beverly Farms for four years and walked to the ocean. I don't have any specific rec's for you, but towns I would recommend are Beverly Farms, where we lived. There is a village area and a walk to the beach. Dh was the youth pastor at North Shore Comm. Baptist and we lived in the big white house directly behind the church. Now they use it as a "Hospitality House." Salem is very nice, but there is a small town, Marblehead, that is simply delightful. I would LOVE to stay there - sort of like a New England Annapolis. Further up the North Shore is Manchester-by-the-Sea. We often biked from Beverly Farms to Manchester. There is a harbor, great restaurants, not much shopping. Further up the coast is Rockport - absolutely lovely. Quirky shops, beautiful scenery, etc. Crane Beach is in Ipswich - not far away. It's a wildlife refuge and is a great place to walk, smell the salt, etc. I'm jealous! I would love to get back up that way! Let me know what you decide. :)

Cindy,
Thank you very much for your reply. :001_smile: After much searching online, we ended up with a house around Plymouth, MA. I think we will be really happy with it.
If we get north of Boston, is there any one town and/or beach that you would recommend over the others, or anything you think is not to be missed around Boston? We have five children - almost 11 and under and we all love to visit historical places. We do plan to visit Plimoth Plantation while we are there.
I hope you get to visit north of Boston again soon! It sounds like you really enjoyed your time there.
Thank you,
Dixie
