Thread order, date, and time

I just typed a post very clearly explaining my question, and I got "server is busy" and my post disappeared! Arrgh! Is that problem going to go away soon? How annoying!!

Now, let me try to re-explain my question.

I want the threads to appear in the order they were posted, like they did on the old board. And I see at the bottom of the screen I can change the order with Display Options.

1) How can I tell when a thread was posted without opening it up? I can easily see when someone replied to a thread but I can't see when it was started.

2) Can I change the default sort order? Everytime I come to a board, it is sorted by Last Post Time, which leaves the subject lines in a jumble and is driving me crazy. How can I set the default to leave the subject lines in order?

If you hit last post it will put the posts in order of when they were posted. When you click it it has an arrow that goes up of down and it changes the posts. I believe that you can see if as what was posted recently. Mine is pulling posts up that were posted yesterday and putting them on top. I have it set that way to see what is being responded to.
