High School Co-ops in Northern VA

Our family will be relocating to Northern VA in June of 09. My husband will be working near the Pentagon and we would like to live in Fairfax county. We are flexible about the area depending on what is available for our dd, who will be entering 10th grade. I'm looking for co-ops that teach some academic subjects. I would appreciate any leads that you could send my way. Have a great homeschooling day.

I'm not sure where in Fairfax County you plan to move, but in Centreville there is a group called Chess. They seem to offer a lot of classes. We don't live in that area anymore (we moved out further), but I still get their emails and the classes look good. I don't recall their website, but you probably find it on a search.

Don't be too flexible about where you live! I don't live there anymore, but I grew up in and still frequently visit Fairfax, and traffic is a nightmare during morning and afternoon commutes. Have your husband spend several days driving to/from any area you're considering looking for housing before you commit to anything.

My opinion: it's better for you to spend a little extra time on the road once or twice a week during non-rush hour than for him to fight the traffic day in and day out!
