A question about "Stargate: Atlantis" and "42"...

Dr. McCay says it's the answer to everything, and I took a test to find out which sci-fi crew I would be on and "42 is the answer to everything" was one of the questions.

What *is* that???

It's from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. "The answer to life, the universe, and everything" is 42. Um, ya gotta read the book!

42 is the answer to Life, the Universe and Everything according to Douglas Adams and the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

They basically created a computer to answer the ultimate question. After a gazillion years, it came up with the answer 42. Voila!

I'm also wondering how many times I can use that when someone asks me a question, lol.

That book was required in my freshman year computer science class. Really. My professor loved it and 42 was an answer on ever quiz, test, and final he gave.

Oh - and Don't Panic! must be on the cover of every user manual. It is important.

We just watched it and it made me laugh, esp. since I told my kid about it not two days ago. I told her that 6x7 is one of my favorite multiplication problems...

In our area the movie was just on last week. My husband, who is not a real hard core Sci-Fi even enjoyed it.
