Im looking at the blister Microscope in the Rainbow Resource Catalog/ website. Anyone have it? Do you like it? is it good?

has anyone seen both....I have always been interested in a Brock style Microscope...This one seems to be good in that you can observe Live bugs, etc.

Thanks

I don't know anything about the Blister Microscope, but I just have to say something about the Brock Magniscope.

We have had a microscope for several years. Occasionally the children would use it but not often. It wasn't convenient to be outside and have to go inside to look at something. Or remember to save the item to look at later. Not much looking was getting done.

So we got the Brock Magniscope. My children LOVE it. They carry it outside almost every day and set it up on the picnic table. They all gather different things to look at. It easy to focus. Very sturdily made. Even my 3yo uses it.

You can buy extra eyepieces and opticals but so far they have only needed the standard one.

I did look up the Blister and you do have to plug it in. The Magniscope has a little tube that collects the room light so it needs no electricity. That was the main reason our other microscope didn't get used more often. The children wanted to be "out in the field" with it. The Magniscope is very portable.

Hope this helps some.

I've been eyeballing the Brock for awhile now. It will be a Christmas present.

People here will commonly recommend the Brock Magiscope or the Sonlight microscope. We love our Brock and use it everywhere!

we used it once and it's been sitting in the box ever since :( I wish I had listened to the reviews on here at the time and bought the Brock!
