Blogging help? Want to change the sides of my blog

I'm using a template (blogspot) and I'm just finding it's too crowded. Can I somehow change it without losing everything I've done? Don't like the other options on blogger, but I'm clueless about just about everything blog-wise. I'm always thrilled when something actually shows up the way I want!
So (can anyone do it for me?)

How about changing your font? Arial, maybe? You can also vary the size of the font. Your format looks okay. Try this before making huge changes.

I went into my template html code and made my wrapper and main area bigger. It is just a matter of changing a few numbers. The problem will be your gorgeous header. It is hard once you increase the size of your blog area to get your header centered. I had to make a new header. Blogger tips is a great site and I believe they even have instructions on how to alter your particular blog template. I just finally got brave with mine and tinkered with it. Make sure you download and save your entire template FIRST before trying to mess with it.
