My boys say that they'll play it, but will they really?
Do you have the upgrade, do your kids play it? Has it helped with their math facts?
Thanks,
Phlox

Yes, my kiddos and I both think it's worth the upgrade. They love Lava Land and Robot World (not sure if those are the real names, kids and I call them that:001_smile:)
My kids play this almost every day and love trying to get to the next level.
I was afraid that they would tire of it but they haven't. I'm on level 7 ;)

We only tried the free version, and my dc lost interest. For us, it was too much video game and not much math drill. I don't know what the upgraded version is like, though. YMMV.

I think it has enough drill. They can't move onto the next level until they can answer all the facts (unless you manually move them forward). The whole time they are moving up in the game they are answering a multiplication. If they miss they have to repeat.
They also have to answer the facts in a certain amount of time.
I also like that they are getting drilled and I don't have to drill them myself. This is a lot more fun and it frees me up to school another child.
My kids have a timer set for 20-30 minutes and they just do what they can within that time.
My kids don't have Nintendo, play station etc. and don't normally get to play video games so this is really cool to them.
Wanted to add that I paid $5.00 extra to have the cd sent to me, just incase my computer crashed or something. We don't usually back everything up. I know we should ;)

We played the free version for awhile then upgraded. My son is the video game type and he loves it. He is required to do 10 minutes of math drill a day (either Timez Attack or the handheld game Math Shark). The upgrade allows you experience different worlds. There is a demo at their site that shows you what the upgraded version looks like. Right now they are offering 10 dollars off of the purchase price if you tell four people about it.
Hope this helps,

Yes, we are glad we upgraded.
However I went with the free version for about a year. That's about when my kids started to not bother with TimezAttack. Then I surprised them and got the upgraded version and wow... they were all interested all over again!
FYI: The free version is the SAME game as the upgraded version. The difference is all in the scenary. My kids really liked exploring the different worlds, the free version only has one 'world' to go thru.

I got it, loaded it and went, "UGH!"
My girls will NOT like this attacking the monster bit.
My three kids love it, and mastered math facts in record time (although my ds: 8 is still working on them). I was shaking my head wondering why it worked so much better than my "math wrap-ups," Quarter Mile Math, math flashcards . . .
I went upstairs one night pretty late, and saw a vaguely familiar blue light glowing from underneath the door. I snuck into my dd:13's room ready to "bust her!" She looked up, stunned . . . obviously caught and then pointed to her laptop screen.
It was Timez Attack--6X tables. I smirked, whispered, "Carry on!" and tip-toed back out of the room. She had them "cold" the next morning at the breakfast table.
Too funny!

We did not upgrade, but loved the free version. I also think the program has enough drill. It was very effective in our situation.

We upgraded and I thought it was well worth the money. I had her play several levels of the free version first just to make sure she really was interested and wanted to keep going.
I was amazed at how well and how quickly she learned.

We upgraded and have been pleased with it. The only difference is the change in scenery- which is enough to keep the game "fresh."
