Dh has a conference next week in Hilton Head. He is staying at a really nice place on the beach. Weather and crowds this time of year? Worth the drive for us to tag along?

It is one of my favorite places in the US. Well, I prefer Holden Beach, a few miles away but sill... Gorgeous beaches!

We love Hilton Head! I would go in a heartbeat. There are great walking/bike paths and if you haven't seen the lighthouse and the harbour, that is fun as well.

My BIL got married on top of the lighthouse there as the sun was setting. IT was the most beautiful wedding ever.

dd and ds just came back from a missions trip there (they served somewhere else, but stayed at HH). They both say: GO!!! It's beautiful there! I've never been; the Jersey Shore is my home away from home. :D

We loved Hilton Head. We all biked around, visited the lighthouse, and the beach was lovely.

I would go if I were you. Be warned, all the building are beach colored. My kids still talk about the "most depressing McDonald's I've ever seen." All the businesses kind of blend together and you can't tell the difference.
There's also an outlet mall with a bookstore and some fabulous seafood restaurants.

Go. There's the Coastal Discovery Center for a fun field trip
http://www.coastaldiscovery.org/pages/sea.htm

You can rent bicycles, there are bike trails everywhere. See Greg Russell's concerts http://www.greggrussell.com/

The Museum of Hilton Head offers guided tours of the beaches; you can also take private tours by kayak or bike.

I lived there for a couple of years, it is beautiful. If you can, Beaufort and Savannah are day-trips. Downtown Savannah is 1 hour away South and Beaufort is 1 hour away North.

Well, likely we are passing this one by with plans to do something with more notice in the near future. I can't get it together in less than a week. And we are coming down with colds now. So, dh will likely do this one solo with us tagging along another time.
