Christian Light (CLE), it's the best we've tried and we are sticking with it.:001_smile:

R&S 2 and Singapore 1B/2A. I've tried a lot of programs and R&S wins hands down. I like to add in Singapore to get a different point of view. Ds likes both.

Singapore 2: Textbook, Workbook, Extra Practice and Challenging Word Problems . . . unless my second second grader turns out to be radically different from his older siblings, in which case I'll have to find something else. Maybe I'll look at Noble Knights of Knowledge or actually use the Miquon sitting on my shelf.

Last year my dd used Singapore for 2nd grade (this year she switched to BJU.)
This year my ds is using CLE 200 for 2nd grade.

Last year, my 2nd grader used RightStart B (because he switched to RS from MathUSee that year.)
My previous 2nd grader used MUS Beta.

We are switching to R&S. We've used rightstart, singapore and briefly looked at miquon. R&S seems so straightforward to me, easy to teach and solid. I've read on the boards that some go through R&S so the children learn the facts down cold and then go back through Singapore for the extra concept/why behind math. I may do that as we go along, but right now I'm very excited to be doing *only* R&S. I really struggled teaching Singapore as we went along, too.

I'll be using Exploring Mathematics 2 from Scott-Foresman with youngest ds this year.

MUS Beta
Us too, though it won't be for a couple of years. LOL
Well, we've tried Abeka, Horizons and MUS... now we are going to give Saxon a try. I will still continue MUS. I like the idea of combining spiral and mastery math curricula.

MUS Alpha. We're making the switch from Saxon, so we decided to start him in Alpha -- we may move into Beta sometime during the year if he goes through it quickly.

Right Start and I've dropped Singapore as ds does not like it.

I used Right Start and liked it and my girls thrived, but I just didn't feel like they were getting enough reinforcement of subjects and skills.
We really like Saxon.

This is our 3rd year with it. It suits us perfectly. Rigorous and thorough but not too much.

Another Horizons here. It's a perfect fit for my ds who wouldn't want to camp out on one thing too long! :) This year we had him tested for the first time and he tested 3 years above the Horizons level math he is. We do not supplement nor do we do all the extra activities. We just work through the main book and memorize math facts. It's a great program for us.

I thought I was the only one that was using Saxon, although we haven't started it yet because I'm still waiting for the workbooks. Hope it will work okay.

We are starting Saxon here, switching from Rod and Staff. I'm trying to figure out my dd's math bent. It's different from her sister, I think. We may come back to R&S or go to MUS if Saxon doesn't work, but it was free and we're giving it a try.

We haven't completely decided yet. My older dd is finishing up Calvert's 1st grade curriculum and my younger dd is starting Saxon 1. I like both of those programs, but I haven't decided whether to get them both on the same program or keep the status quo.

Saxon. I'll be putting together a portable circle (http://wayzleyacademy.homeschooljournal.net/2008/08/02/portable-circle-time-revisted/) to help teach the meeting this week. Have to crack open the Saxon 2 box and see what needs to be there, so I know what history/geography I can add to it.
