View Full Version : GFCF/food allergy moms: We've found a way to be off the diet w/o repercussions!

I posted to Jean in Newcastle's food allergy thread a minute ago, but I thought I should start a thread for others who are dealing with special diets, too.

We've just completed allergy treatments with an acupuncturist who cured my kids' food intolerances. We'd been on a restricted diet with ds for over two years, and his intolerances were growing. We started by eliminating gluten and casein, but later removed corn syrup, colors, preservatives, MSG, etc. His world of food was shrinking, day by day.

An aquaintaince told me about her experience getting rid of food intolerances with something called AcuSet. She had been freed from a restricted diet and multiple food reactions with the treatment. I was skeptical, but desperate, so we drove down to the provider's office for an evaluation.

I'm so glad we did!

Both kids are OFF the diets and back on a healthy diet that includes wheat and dairy. After two weeks of treatments (2 appointments per day on MWF each week) and for less than $500 per child, their food intolerances are GONE. No more food-induced constipation, no more food-induced tantrums, no more food-induced hyperactivity, etc. No more taking a special cupcake for ds to a birthday party. No more special diet.

This treatment is amazing. Somehow, it retrains your body to stop reacting badly to certain foods. It "resets" the body's alignment for those foods, and the wheels rolls smoothly again.

If you're tired of restricting your family's diet, please consider reading about these treatments. They've been nearly miraculous for our family.

I've linked the acupuncturist's website below. She has a very easy-to-read book that explains the procedures. If you'd like to read the book, call her office.

I'm happy for you that it's working, but I also want to share a warning.
A friend of mine had her daughter go through similar treatment. The food allergies did disappear. But only for two years. And when they came back, they were worse than before, and more numerous.
I decided to stay away from such treatment.
YMMV

Cleo,

This particular provider has been doing this for eight years and she said that no one has come back with more allergies. She's had people come back for things she hasn't treated, but not the things she's already treated.

With NAET or Bioset (similar treatments), I've heard that concern before. People seem to need to come back for "tune ups" on a regular basis.

We tried NAET, but it only made ds worse. I'd imagine that the treatment style can make a difference in its long-term success.

Take care,

Lisa

that if you are GF because of Celiac, do not try something like this. Nothing will treat Celiac except a GF diet and even if your symptoms are masked, you are still doing severe damage to your body. I wish something like this would magically take my dd's Celiac disease away. :(

Me too. Both of dds have Celiac Sprue, my youngest dd also has type-1 diabetes and hypo-thyroid, most likely both caused by the Celiac. It's a nasty condition. :(

Honestly, I'm a bit disheartened by the negative reactions from you three. I thought someone else might want to be off restrictive diets as much as we did, so I posted about our experience. I didn't expect to feel lectured on reasons why this isn't worth trying.

In Chinese medicine there is a saying: If the digestive system is strong enough, you can eat anything, even poison.

Not that I advocate eating poison, LOL, but yes, I believe there are things that can be done to help a person's intolerances, be it accupuncture or whatever.

Right now I know some folks who are eating exactly opposite of what the doctors tell them to eat, due to some alternative health protocols that they are following, and it's working!

I also know a lady here in my town who is working on developing a program that will change the electrical charge (or something...don't quote me on this)in foods so that people can eat things that they can't (or shouldn't!). It's an interesting theory. Interesting because I know a practitioner of Quantum Touch who does some amazing things with the human body that conventional medicine doesn't acknowledge is possible.

I'm sure you are a good mom, and will monitor the progress of your children.

I just wanted to show you some support!:)

I don't think I was being critical of what you said. What I think both Marie and I were saying is that for those with Celiac (not a food allergy but an autoimmune disease) this would be a dangerous thing to do.

There was a case in NC of a young girl with type-1 diabetes who died because her parents wanted so badly to get her off insulin. They went to a doctor who was promising a cure by taking her off insulin and actually feeding her large amounts of glucose to sweet the diabetes out of her. It was a tragedy for this family as they trusted this man to "fix" their daughter. Thankfully, this doctor is no longer in business and if I remember correctly - he was prosecuted. So, I think we were giving a cautionary statement and not saying that folks with allergies should not explore their options.

As someone whose child suffers with dietary allergies, I am celebrating with you! :)
