It has some flaws, but overall, not a bad sock. I posted pics this morning but didn't get a chance to do more than that. If you want to look, it's on my blog. I tell you, sock knitting is fun and totally addictive!
What kind of yarn should I get for my next pair? I want something really nice and soft with pretty colors. I know nothing about all those sock yarns, so please be specific with the kind and where to find it. I would like something in the purples or blues and greens families.

Yahoo, I can do socks!:D:p

I really love Lorna's Laces (not because of the name honest!). They are 80% wool and 20% nylon. They are soft, lovely to knit with, the colours are gorgeous and they wash really well. There are a couple of pictures on my blog using them (although you might have to scroll back for old posts) if you'd like a look.
Congratulations again!
I am off to have a wee look at your sock now. Thanks for sharing.

Good Job. Keep it up. Right now I'm working on my 2nd glove for my dh. We'll see. This one was a difficult pattern.

until I figured out how to do that, I NEVER got the 2nd sock finished... so I literally have a drawer full of mismatched socks because I never made a mate!

If you want the instructions, email me and let me know... it's tricky the first time, but after that it's a piece of cake!

My favorite sock yarn is Austermann's Step yarn - it has aloe in the yarn and while you're knitting it your hands feel so soft and wearing them is even more heavenly.

Enjoy - sock knitting is my "therapy"
