The subtitle is Winning the War on Terror by Breaking Free of Oil.

I am halfway through it and it is so thought provoking and while it gets political, he seems to favor no one party over the other-- criticizing each equally. Lots of science and graphs, but interesting too.

Tom Friedmann has been beating that drum since the fall of communism. His summarized position is that before we wanted to win the cold war, and now we should work on energy independence to win the peace. This was prescient of him, in my view, and is still not taken as seriously as it ought to be.
