I think they are a hair "softer" than reg ticonderogas...they write smoothly. And, my son thinks the name is admirable.

I bought these on sale at Office Depot last week for $1.50 a pack. My kids thought I was crazy for buying so many. I'm sure they will truly think I'm insane if I purchase more. But, they went through an entire pack of pencils last week. <sigh>

We like that these pencils write smoothly and that the erasers work. I bought a pack of Ticonderoga's to try and the eraser's did not hold up to my girl's expectations.

I am in Black Warrior pencil heaven! Stopped at a Walgreen's yesterday and didn't see the sale sign. Just couldn't spend $2.49 for 8 pencils. Stopped today and the sign said 3 packs for $3.98. Got to the register and they rang up at 39 cents. RAN back to get more!

And the white board markers were $1 cheaper as well.

It was a very good day at Walgreens.
