I have my glitter spray repellant on and the coffee is brewing as I type. :D I really hope there is no chitting tonight. That would be most unfortunate.

Not Elaine, but  about the sunglasses! I'm not sure which is worse: the sparkle, the light-blue eyeshadow, Shawn Johnson's crayon-line eyeliner, or the skinned-back ponytails that are so tight the girls' eyebrows are up where their hairline should be.
No matter. I'll be up late watching, too.

What?! You don't like that baby-blue eyeshadow?!
I have an aunt who grew up in the 60s. She still wears that beautiful blue shadow. :001_huh:

It's going to be another late night. My girls think they are going to stay up and watch but it doesn't even start until 11:15. These Olympics are going to kill me.

Maybe after they have finished, to keep the glitter and blue theme going, they could wear these

Normally I don't mind not having cable, but I really miss Olympic gymnastics. Oh well, off to watch Planet Earth with the kiddos. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/sad025.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org)

I used to LOVE watching women's gymnastics, but now...is it me, or does it seem like we should just face the music and change the name of the sport to girls' gymnastics? Gymnasts were always small, but...holy cow! These girls are like little fairies or something. Teensy.
Remember Mary Lou Retton's hair? How radically bouncy and free it was! Who knew?
The shiny, shellacked hair; the shiny eyes; the shiny bodysuits; all of the residual glitter over everything.... I dunno. As the competitors have gotten tinier and everything's gotten shinier, it's lost some of its luster for me. I just can't get psyched about it anymore.
Now men's gymnastics? AWESOME! Love it!

There is some great video's online. The perk is when watching some of them live (like, archery), there is no commentary! Silent :D

Glitter, blue eye shadow, I think of Mimi from the Drew Carey show. Now if I were Jenny I would also have attached a pic.

"WAIT MOM STOP!!!" "That's a pretty shoooeeee."
a quote from my youngest as she watches the Olympics and me reading the forums. Ladies, in 4 years, when we have another Olympics, will someone PLEASE remind me NOT to start school until after the 14 days? We have been hitting the books later and later and today, we didn't start school until 2:30 in the after noon! Thank God for Crock pots!!!!
The glitter doesn't bother me as much as the blush. Would someone please take that poor little 5 year old Chinese girl and teach her how to put on blush (16 my foot!!!)
GO SHAWN!!!
