If I remember correctly, several people here have suggested Windows to the World is most suitable for high school. Why is that the case? (Or is it not?) I've looked at the sample and it doesn't strike me as unusually challenging.

Chris, I know you asked recently about Lightning Lit. Did you decide against that? I'm considering LL 8.

Hi Colleen,
I was set to go with Windows, and went to order today - they have a link to a youtube video. I watched the video and the person stated upper hs years. That seemed a bit old to me, I've looked at the samples, but only the first unit is online. LL was a grasping at straws effort to find something, but I remember ruling it out last year because I thought it went through too much I'm already doing (writing, vocab, etc) and didn't hit lit analysis hard enough or review at all. So I'm stumped - it's ironic, because that is what I'm returning to school for - an MA in English Lit.

Seems odd to me, too. The sample seemed like a good fit for the 8th/9th grade range.

Hmm, well, I liked the look of LL, but at this point I'm not too hard to satisfy.:tongue_smilie: Windows does look quite good; I wish the online sample had something more/different than just the first unit.

I have it, but I'm about to dash out the door for the evening, so I can't answer any specific questions, but if you want to teach annotation and different literary analysis essays and you think your student is ready, I would push the "Purchase" button. :001_smile:

IEW has a generous return policy, so you would just come up short on the shipping.

I can answer more specific questions tomorrow if you would like. :001_smile:

Peace,
Janice

Enjoy your little people
Enjoy your journey

P.S. I wouldn't wait until upper hs; the skills are just too important. They need the skills to DO literary analysis and write the papers. JMO.
