because I preferred the set-up of the old boards. I don't like the way the order of the threads here keeps changing, and I liked being able to see the original post and all of it's replies as I scanned down the page.

Amen! It was so much easier before to scroll down and jump into conversations wherever I wanted to. It was much more intuitive.

I like how the old threads were sorted too, but have you played with the display of the threads? If you change the display mode to threaded or hybrid, you can see the replies to conversations under where they belong and you can jump in under a particular person instead of at the bottom. It helps.

I agree - I loved knowing each thread would maintain its place in the "line" - behind or before another specific thread. I'm sure I'll adjust as well - Sonlight uses this software so it's not totally foreign - but I'm not sure I like it better. ;)

I do like the security aspect.

I didn't realize how fast the board changed under the old format. This is going to take some getting used to.

I liked the old board too, it was so much quicker to read and reply, and I really liked the black and white-ness of it. This takes longer to read because you see everybody's signature and stuff and can't just concentrate on the message.

There's a lot of things I like about the new format, but it does take longer to "check the boards." It's harder to see at one glance what's going on. On the other hand, I'm seeing more on the other boards by clicking on "new posts" rather than being stuck in the K-8 General rut I was in before.
