That your crappy kitchen cabinets with an even crappier paint job would actually look much better when clean? Hunh:001_huh:. I scrubbed and wiped and they look halfway decent. Wow! I never knew;).

Now I just have about 12 loads of laundry to fold. And no, that is not an exaggeration! :tongue_smilie: There are about 5 hampers/baskets overflowing with clean clothes.

But I exercised today. Much more important than folding, don't ya think?:D

I've got those cabinets! They are painted white with yellow paint underneath showing through and sticky grey edges where they are handled. I washed half of them a few days ago using baking soda like a soft scrub. They do look much better. Now I've got to do the other half.

I really want to strip them, repaint them and put polyurethane over the paint. Who knows when that would happen.

I hear ya! We originally painted the walls about 4-5 years ago with the intent of doing the cabinets. But they are painted with oil paint. Due to the total pain in the neck aspect of either stripping and repainting with a latex or going over with oil, we decided the yucky cabinet were not worth it. So there they sit until we can redo the kitchen sometime in the far away future.

Cleaning cabinets??? Hmmm, maybe I'll try that sometime! Naaaah, I'm really busy here at WTM and can't seem to find the time! ;)

Oh my, I'd exercise in a heartbeat before having to do laundry!!! :)

Wow, I'm impressed! I'd R*P you if I hadn't already! :)

They were so nasty. They are poorly painted and not the greatest quality construction at all. They are slightly off-white. I happened to actually look at them tonight and realized how awful they are. So, I had a wild hair for a bit and cleaned them. Don't do those kinds of things often so I must strike when the iron is hot. It is rarely hot :glare:.

I had to do something, they looked disgusting. I was getting embarrassed to walk into my own kitchen.

I go in waves, and when it hits, I just DO IT, or that crazy urge will be gone! :tongue_smilie:

That's why I just washed mine. Plus, I have the house cleaners coming over to see my house tomorrow. I don't want to be totally ashamed of the place!:tongue_smilie:

When I was remodeling my kitchen my mother-in-law recommended the same sort of paint style she has on her kitchen cabinets. The reason? She's NEVER washed them and don't they still look great?!

Later, I asked my husband when they put those cabinets in.
1981 was his answer.

I wonder how those cabinet would look after a little wipe-down. :001_huh:
