I may have the opportunity to take some classes in the Naperville/Warrenville IL area in mid April and am trying to find hotels, etc. The problem is, when I find hotels in our price range (interpreted: cheap but clean), I don't have any idea what the area of town is like.

Could someone in that area please give me some suggestions? The classes will be on Diehl Road (on the map, it looks like W. Diehl Rd.), Warrenville, just south of I-88.

Quite honestly anywhere you stay around there should be fine. I'm not sure where you are thinking about staying but anywhere near 88, Diehl Road, Naperville Road is in a business district. There aren't any bad neighborhoods around there.

When I think of Naperville, I don't think that there are any bad neighborhoods. I'm not sure about Warrenville. That area is pretty nice.

safe, easy access to your classes.
There is an Embassy Suites that may work for you-depending on how long you are going to stay.
If you go into Aurora, you want to be more careful about where you stay.

It's so hard trying to find something reasonable, yet not know anything about the area.

Now, to get things together to see if I can take the classes!!

My family lived in Naperville for several years, and my sister is in Warrenville. You should be just fine anywhere around there. Aurora has parts that are rough, but there are so many hotel options in Naperville and Warrenville, that you should be able to find something there.

When we were back last year visiting dh's family, we got a room at the Springhill Suites on Weaver Pkwy in Warrenville. It's right off of Diehl Rd very near lots of things. We were very happy with the service. Our room had a queen bed and a sofabed along with a kitchenette.

I used to work on Diehl Rd before we moved, and I agree with the others that any hotels in that area would be fine - Lisle, Naperville, Warrenville, Wheaton are all nice areas. I would not go any further west than Rt. 59 though because there are not so nice parts of Aurora. I'm almost missing our old neighborhood just thinking about it. Hope you enjoy your trip there.
