I know this is a long shot....
Has anyone been to Sesame Place or live in the area?
I would like to take DD there for her birthday.
I'm looking for info for any discounts on tickets or other helpful info, tips or reviews.
thanks!!

Which dd? the 3yr old? She would love it though there will be some things she is too young for. Overall there will be a host of things she could do as well. I haven't been for 14 yrs but my 4yr old nephews loved it at the time. You need swim suits and change of clothes and bring own food and lots of water. I'm sure it is expensive. If it is for your 12yr old then I think she is probably too old. She will enjoy it with her sisters but... it is for younger kids. HTH

Are you looking for a hotel too? Sesame Place sells packages. AAA might have discounted tickets and I think Burger King and/or Wawa (convenience store) might have coupons.

I took my 12 year old when she was around 4 and she loved it.
This time it's for the 3 year old. I think the ticket prices are close to $50 per person now.
Sometimes locals hear of discounts and promotions.

Haven't heard of any discounts for us regular folks, but I understand that the military can get in free. I've never been...when the kids were young enough we couldn't afford it, and now that we can they're too old. My sister plans on going soon though (that's how i found out about the free military), and I can pick her brain if you like.

We've been a few times. It's really fun, gets crowded, there are lots of water activities. I think that in the past few years they've added more things that would interest older kids. The last time we went our oldest was 9 and he still really liked it. I think your 12yo might have fun. Definitely check their website and see how they've upgraded it recently.
It is expensive to get in, and you pay for parking too. You can often find coupons in entertainment books and other places. They also have one of those "cheaper in the evening" deals. So if you were staying overnight you might want to consider shopping at the nearby outlets earlier in the day and then SP in the later afternoon/early evening.

We have been a couple of times. As the number of kids I have has increased, so the number of times we have been has decreased. My 13 year old has been about 5 times, my 7 year old twins once. The 9 year old 3 times, but for 2 of these, he was a baby and went in free.
It is very expensive though and it gets crowded on weekends with long lines for some of the rides. We learnt our lesson the hard way and after trip number 2, we went either on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
We always make it a day trip, leave home around 8 , get there around 10am and stay till around 5. It is usually plenty of time and the kids are always extremely tired when we leave.
Good experience though but we won't be going there anymore. The last time we went, my eldest was 11 and he didn't enjoy it as much as the little ones.

Is it for service members or their dependents??

This (http://www.herosalute.com/states/index.html) says the service member and up to three direct dependents. Cool, huh?

Oh my word! My kids absolutely LOVE this place! Fun, fun, fun! We went about 7 years ago when my ds7 was just an infant. We took along a babysitter to help w/ him but halfway there she asked us if the pools where chlorinated :001_huh: b/c she was allergic to chlorine. :001_huh: Should have known it was going to be a LONG day. Anyway, we went back just a few years ago when all the kids were older and able to enjoy it. Look for packages at local hotels. That's what we did. You can also go 2x on one ticket if you take it to the customer service house and do the Elmo pass. The days don't have to be consecutive. Also, the park is smaller than regular amusement parks which is a good thing if your kids get lost. :001_huh: Each of the 5 children we had there got lost at least once. They have a "lost parents" room w/ games, video games, coloring books, etc. My kids loved it in there and by the end of the day were "trying" to get lost so they would have to go there. We had a little discussion about how mommy's heart just couldn't take it and to please STOP getting lost on purpose. Anyway, fun place.
