I have about a half dozen little plastic index card holder boxes, and like Aubrey said about the binders, index cards are all about the dividers!! I have a couple of plastic alphabet sets, a couple of regular cardboard or whatever they are alphabet sets, and am fully convinced that there are or should be divider sets that have something on them besides the alphabet.

We do vocabulary cards on index cards and then alphabetize them.

This is also what I have in my brain to do with my recipes, because during my first year of marriage, I told my grandma that I needed chicken recipes. She went through ALL of her cookbooks and put every chicken recipe she could find on an index card, so now I have this old, metal index card box that is STUFFED so full of chicken recipes that I can't get any of them out! So that's what I want to do with the rest of my recipes; who needs books?

So. What do you use index cards for? What size? Do you like the colored ones or the white ones? Lines or no lines? Oh, I was in heaven when I found unlined 4x6 index cards! I bought 4 packages! :tongue_smilie:

Go to Simply Charlotte Mason and look at their memory system. I have my dd's memory work on index cards, but I haven't set up the box yet. It makes a lot of sense to me, though. I also want to set up index cards to review SOTW/MOH so that my daughter retains some of this info.
