Classical Conversations (Middle School)

Is anyone familiar with Classical Conversations? They are looking to form a group within an hour of my home, and I am considering looking very seriously at their program. Any thoughts??

There are a few groups here. Leigh Bortins used to live near here. I knew Leigh before she moved and I have tremendous respect for her, her marketing abilities, and her scholarship, but I wouldn't use her program. I think her program might be good for a new homeschooling parent who needed a whole lot of hand holding and had no self-confidence. To me, she oversteps the boundary of the homeschooling family and her program controls a family's curriculum too much. Plus, it was too much money.

That said, I believe a teacher will make or break the program, too. If you have a good set of teachers you might be okay.

Though it never has been good for us, even with a group within 15 minutes of our home, it might well be good for you in your area.
