Has anyone read these books? My 11ds is interested in it after I brought home a flier from our HS conference.
Good books?
Age appropriate for a voracious reader?
Comments?

Thanks.

I recently read the first one to investigate after a friend recommended it. For a voracious reader, he should get through it quickly.

It was a great allegorical tale that parallels our walk with Christ. I think it would be a great read for an 11yo. Good for a discussion about being a Christian too.

I hope he enjoys it!

I highly recommend them. They are wonderful for read aloud because they are filled with many scriptural parallels that the kids may not get on their own. My boys could not get enough of them and I thoroughly enjoyed them too. Themes are bravery, suffering, the poor, cruel leaders, godly leadership etc. Can't go wrong with these.

Thank you - they do look great. I'm definitely going get one and see if he gets hooked on it. It looks like something he'll love.

I bought them for my son and started reading the first one to preview it before I gave it to him. I got hooked and read the first 4 in a couple of days. He has a brand new book out that is a continuation of the first 6 books (I think this new series is an allegory of the New Testament). I think it is called the Knights of Arimethea (sp?) - you can search Chuck Black on Amazon on find it.

These were highly recommended to me at our hs conference this summer. I bought the first 3 and plan on using the first one as our first co-read aloud when we start school in a few weeks. I'm excited to hear that so many others love these.
