Would it be overkill to do NEM1 and BCM together in one year?
I have BCM planned for 8th grade dd. She did very well with SM 1-6. She wants to be done with SM, but I think it might be beneficial to supplement BCM with NEM1.
Last year she did SM 6A & 6B and TT Pre-Algebra. She sailed through TT. She even said that she could do the story problems without reading them.
On one hand, I think BCM is enough. She'll be doing the odd problems and working through the entire book in one year. On the other hand, I would love to have her doing both. IMO, SM can't be beat in word problems. I also think having new concepts introduced by both books could be very beneficial.
Has anyone put the two together with coordinated assignments? If so, I'd be interested to see it.
If you do use both programs how do you do it?
