I was the one who started the "who loves their local library" thread a few days ago. I went into my library today to pick up my box of [B]38 books[B] that I had requested online. They were waiting for me!! :D I'm amazed because this is only my 2nd time in the library (just moved here) and they KNOW me! Now they really know me as I'm the crazy lady with books coming in daily.
Anyway, one of the librarians carried my box of books out to the car for me so I could wrangle the kids. After she walked away, she turned around and said, "Do you know were XXXXXX Road is?" It just so happens I live on XXXX Rd., so of course I do. She said, well I live at the house that sells Maple syrup, have you seen that sign on the road? "Of course I have!"
Then she proceeds to invite the kids and I over to their "Sugar House" next Monday to watch and even help in the process of making maple sugar. Ironically, we just finished reading Little House in the Big Woods and there was an entire chapter in there about making maple sugar and my boys loved that chapter. Now we get to go and see it being done for real! I thought that was such a kind offer. I'm so excited!!
