Hi Jann,

Thanks for the suggestion of using Lials Introductory Algebra and the isbn numbers. I was wondering- do you know where I can look at some samples online? I looked on amazon.com but the sample excerpt for Lials is for another book (not lials).

I stumbled upon this once on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0321012674/ref=cm_cr_dp_orig_subj). It is a 6th ed., but essentially the same.
