I misread your second question. It has worked great - it is very thorough, and explains every concept in great detail, that is simple for the child to understand. Both of my kids have been able to memorize math facts easily with the way R&S does it, with the triplets. I have learned things in it that has made math easier for me!

It's all we've ever used. Love it!!
It works great if you have a child who catches on quickly, you can move ahead easily. And if you have a child who needs repetition, they have plenty of that to help them learn the concept being taught.

R&S math was too dry for our tastes. Ds used it for 1st and 2nd grades. We switched to Bob Jones for 3rd and are now using CLE math for 5th and love it! I reviewed CLE math on my blog last week. Good luck choosing.

We used it for 5th through 7th grades, and it was a good fit here. Very thorough, with enough review. Prepared both of my children for algebra in 8th grade.

Yes, we switched this year from Saxon for grades 3, 5 and 6. This is the best decision we have ever made. The children love this math, they know their math now, and they understand their math.
Just like Heather said... You can move quickly if a child masters a concept quickly, and slow down if he needs more practice.
Love it! Love it! Love it!!!

using it for 4th & 6th. This is our second yr with it and has really worked for us. The explanations are very good. We move on to Teaching Textbooks after 6th grade.

I've loved R&S math for all the years we've been homeschooling.
Both of my sons use(d) it.
My 13 year old was well prepared for algebra by 7th grade, and is now on to geometry and doing great there, as well.

Thanks so much! That was my first question to post :) I am new to the boards and live overseas where homeschooling is not the norm.....so I have a deep appreciation for the internet and this site. We are just starting out with a 4 1/2 year old boy and a 2 1/2 year old boy :) I am just really appreciating reading all your comments and questions and soaking in information as to what we'll do in the years to come. Thanks so much!
