Some of our good friends are adopting a little boy from Ethiopia. He's not here yet, and we won't find out until tomorrow (I have to order the cake today) whether they will get him in August or October. Silly court system and all that. :glare:
So, we're having a little baby shower and I need to get a cake and I wanted it to say *something* I thought "Can't wait to meet you, Benaiah" or something along those lines. Anyone been to a shower for an adopted child who isn't here yet? Any good ideas?

"Congratulations"?:iagree: Yep, that's what I was going to say. It's simple but encompasses this situation well!

"Can't wait to meet you, Benaiah!" is a good one.
Here's a few more thoughts:
Welcome to your forever family!
Congratulations on your new blessing (or, arrival, gift, member of your family, etc!)
God's little Ethiopian blessing!
The best gifts come to those who wait!
Not born of my body, but born of my heart...

I really like "The best gifts come to those who wait" but I think my friend might shoot me. They've been on such a roller coaster this week - I don't know if it would be funny right now! Hmmm.... perhaps "Congratulations" is the best bet here.
You guys are awesome! Thanks for all the great ideas!

Welcome Home!
I like this one A LOT but he's not here yet. That's the trouble. He's not here and we're waiting on pins and needles to see whether he gets to come in August or October.
