Hi there
Is there any site that allows me to find the reading level of non-fiction books? I was hoping to be able to type in a paragraph and then be able to be told what grade level it is. hope this makes sense! thanks

type in the name of a book (or the author) and it'll tell you the reading level.

Hi! Do you have Microsoft Word? I've never checked it for accuracy, but there is a reading level "report" you can get after typing something in a word document and doing a spell check. From the Help menu here are the directions:

Display readability statistics

On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Spelling & Grammar tab.

Select the Check grammar with spelling check box.

Select the Show readability statistics check box, and then click OK.
Click Spelling and Grammar http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/mk:@MSITStore:C:\Program%20Files\Microsoft%20Offic e\Office\1033\wdmain9.chm::/html/images/0002.bmp (http://javascript<b></b>:HelpPopup('oftip9.hlp','IDH_MSOTCID_0002_1');) on the Standard toolbar (http://javascript<b></b>:HelpPopup('wdtip9.hlp','IDH_wodefToolbar');). When Word finishes checking spelling and grammar, it displays information about the reading level of the document (mk:@MSITStore:C:\Program%20Files\Microsoft%20Offi ce\Office\1033\wdmain9.chm::/html/worefReadabilityformulas.htm).
