OK, I know I've seen this discussed SO many times, but what it everyone's favorite Math program to use after you finish Singapore Math? What program would be considered the most like Singapore, and where in this hopefully NON-imaginary math program would you start after completing 6B in Singapore?

I used NEM 1 with my mathy child and Lial's Basic College Math with my non-mathy child. I plan on continuing each in their series. I will also have my mathy child work through Dolciani for a different prospective, because he enjoys Math, and I need something to slow him down a bit.

We like NEM here too. It is rigorous with variety and I am happy it is challenging enough for dd. It requires parental participation but I think that is needed really with any maths curriculum. It is important to follow what is going on in case there are problems.

NEM here too... We're supplementing with Gelfand Algebra and a bunch of other things (not because NEM is lacking, just because we're geeks... LOL), but NEM is definitely our spine and it has been great.

We are also using NEM1 with oldest dd12/6th grade. We used parts Lial's BCM over the summer as review. So far things are moving well and she is enjoying it as much as she can (not a math person). I'm unsure if we will keep going or switch to Jacob's next year. :p

We used VideoText Algebra. But my son is only a 5th grader. I looked very seriously at NEM, and I just don't see that working for him this year. I own it, though, and am considering having him work through it next year, probably after VT Module C.

The downside of VT is cost. I "lucked" into A-C, and E though. I still need D and F, and that's one of the reasons I'm considering switching gears after C for him.

I am quite certain that my next son would not do well with NEM, but I have time to figure that out. My guess at the moment is that VT will be perfect for him.
