View Full Version : Ack! Help! Using dried cranberries in place of fresh in muffins?

Turns out my fresh cranberries hung around too long and I couldn't use them in the muffins I already started. Can I substitute craisins? Do I have to rehydrate them first? Should I just use the frozen blueberries I keep for snacks for the girls?

Dang it! I was really looking forward to fluffy muffins with juicy, fresh cranberries :(

I use dried ones all the time. I do reconstitute them in either hot juice, hot water or even hot tea (depending on what you are making). Just wait for them to soften up and you are good to go.

I use Craisins all the time. Different result, but still tasty.
