OK, don't laugh. I have two dd's amidst puberty. It is like they are the sweetest things and five minutes later, I think an alien has inhabited their bodies. It is double trouble here. They are only 17 months apart and they share a room and friends.

Someone please tell me this shall pass. I am hoping it is hormones and not bi-polar disorder for both of them.

TIA,
Whitney

Three young-ish teens here (boys, though). As far as I can tell it's hormones. It seems that most people live through it with their sanity generally intact. I'm waiting to see if this hold true for me. Know you're not alone.

It has to be hormones. I wonder if this is just the beginning, or whether it will get worse.

I had 3 younger sisters. I was six when the youngest was born which means I was 19 when she turned 13. Hormones are an ugly thing. My mom says my worst year was when I was 15 and then it started getting better. My oldest just turned 12 and it's not pretty as it is. I hate to think of it getting worse for a few years before it gets better. yikes.

I'm with ya there  My daughter is 11 and it's hormones already..
I hope I have hair by the time she is 15 :D
Plus now my hormones are crazy from pregnancy so I feel real sorry for the guys in the house :)

Well hormones can be pretty bad. I have two now 15 and 13 who share a room. This year my 15 yo's emotions have mellowed somewhat. It must be intense at time with two just a year apart.

Maybe you need to take up meditation and sit in Lotus position chating Ohm while your kids are hormonal ;) Wish I had some great words of wisdom

Sounds like totally normal hormones to me. Bipolar in children has distinctly different symptoms than in adults, and you'd notice something seriously amiss. Bipolar children often show hypersexuality at a very young age (a 6yo boy trying to look under girls' skirts, for example) and often exhibit truly violent behavior.

for the encouragement. I will try to keep my head up as we deal with this. The scarry thing is I have to do it all over again with my 7 and 9 yodd's.
Somebody save me!
haha
