Weird medical tongue question

My tongue has either gotten bigger or my mouth has shrunk. Just in the laste year I have found that my tongue no longer lays within my teeth. I am constantly biting the sides (so gross) and it is all chewed up (even grosser). The dentist says my bite if fine and aligned.

What has happened to me? What can I do? Sorry if you are grossed out.

Have you had your thyroid checked? I know that thyroid problems can cause your tongue to swell. Just on the off chance.

My tongue has either gotten bigger or my mouth has shrunk.

My dh's tongue swells sometimes due to food allergies. The dentist called it "geographic tongue".

Have you gained weight?

I have not seen an internist in a long time. The weight is from the last baby who is now two. I have stayed about 10 lbs. heavier since that birth. I have tried to lose the weight but it has not come off.
