Beyond the Code Book 1

I was thinking of getting BTC Book 1 for my 2nd grader. He is currently using or will be using in the Fall:

WWE1
All About Spelling L-1
Climbing to Good English Bk-1
Explode the Code books 1 1/2, 2 1/2 & book 3 1/2. Total of 3 books
MathDo you think it would be too much? I was thinking of maybe doing BTC 3x a week.

we just couldn't get into it. he hated it and so did i. ymmv of course! we do use ETC and like them very much, just not the beyond books...

I got it too and ended up not using it.

I thought it was super cute, but the kids got frustrated with the very long passages. While they could decode the words it just took way to long to get through a story, they'd lose interest before the end.

We used all the ETC books *except* beyond the code so I can't comment on the quality of it, but what you're already doing looks like plenty to me.
