I'm teaching an Intro to Chemistry class in our co-op for 2nd and 3rd graders. Does anyone know of some good books that introduce concepts like matter, atoms, molecules, density, gases, liquids, and solids? Let's Read and Find Out Science type or easy reader that explains these topics.
Thanks!

Below, I reprinted my list of chemistry resources for K-3rd graders. Also below is the link to that thread in which I responded with that list; there were lots of other great suggestions by other ladies in that thread as well. Hope that helps! Warmest regards, Lori D.

Lori D., I found this thread after I posted my question so thanks for putting it out there.
And thanks Jessica for the list too.
I'm hoping my library has most of these books. Y'all are great! :D
I can't rep either of you since apparently I've done it too recently. I'll try back in a few days.

Some books I've used in past are listed below. Many will be more read alouds for younger readers, although some strong readers might want to read them on their own, if interested. Some of them can be quite dry for those not really into the subject matter, so I often use those by just ad libbing from them, using their pictures to explain generalities of topics. Or I may just read excerpts from them. There are more read alones for younger children toward the end of the list.

Wow, this is a wealth of information here about chemistry. I am trying to decide if we should do chemistry soon. There are such wonderful list of books here. Thanks a lot!
I am considering RSO chemistry. I am also looking at Elemental Science chemistry. This will be for my 8.5 and 6.5 yr olds.

Doing research for 3rd grade chemistry for next year and happened onto this thread. Just had to take a moment in case any of the posters see this to say WOW! THANK YOU! Bookmarked this thread and will be referring to it regularly.:hurray:
