for 5th and 7th grade studying the ancients. I want a curriculum that tells me what to do and I don't want to have to go to the library. I am in burnout mode and need it all prepared for me. Science also, something prepared and ready to go.

You *can* add in more, but you wouldn't have to. You can get the CD with the printables and have all the pre-tests, exercises, quizzes, maps, etc. Doing MOH with Homeschool in the Woods timeline and figures has been great for me. Sadly, ds wants to try Diana Waring for a bit which is going to involve a lot more work. I know how you feel!

If you don't mind doing both Ancient and Middle Ages.. SL 6 does it all for you. It can be used as is or made secular.

I'd recommend History Odyssey for something straight-forward with everything set up for you. Sonlight 6 is a very good choice too but it requires you to do a decent amount of reading aloud and if you are burned out that might not be the best choice.

Maybe try a textbook?

How about My Father's World (mfwbooks.com) - Creation to the Greeks. You would have to get the 7th/8th grade supplement but it is all planned and everything is in there except math and LA. You can add extra books from the library, but you don't have to.

Mystery of History is absolutely the easiest of the available programs for the age bracket of your children. I used it as our base and we loved it. For the first time in our homeschooling career, we were able to keep (and stick to it) a timeline. After 2 years with MOH (Vol. 1 and 2), the habit has stuck and the timelines are still going strong!

All I felt I *had* to add to Vol. 1 was Guerber's Story of the Greeks, Story of the Romans (two books, available free online at www.mainlesson.com). I didn't worry about scheduling those books to match up with anything--the kids just read 1-3 chapters a day (they are short) until they were through (first through Greeks, then Romans). If your children are not strong readers, you can sub Guerber's books with Famous Men of Greece and Famous Men of Rome, also available free online at mainlesson.com. Either series help round out those two important eras....

PS. With MOH Vol. 2, I didn't feel the need to supplement with any further text. Just added the fiction we have around the house (after 15+ years of homeschooling, we have a large library....)

I was going to recommend the same thing. Sonlight 6 (Core 6 and Science 6) sounds like what you're looking for!
