Please excuse me in advance, as I am still fairly ignorant with the whole creation/evolution scene. Can someone tell me what the difference between an "early creationist" and just a plain old "creationist" is? I have also read of "creation-evolutionists"? Any input would be appreciate...I am just curious.

Evolution-creationist believe that God used evolution in his creation. That a day doesn't equal a day in our time vs. God's time so things could have evolved over millions of years as part of His design.

Early Creationists belive in a Young Earth.........that days are literal in the Bible and that the earth is only about 6-7 thousand years old

Creationists in general just means you believe that God created the earth, humans and everything on it. That it didn't happen by chance.

Hope that helps........I've done a lot of studying on this because I didn't know what I believed for many years.....it really helped me clarify my beliefs and how they did or didn't line up with the Bible.

I would be happy to answer any other ???s if I can.

This may be more than you wanted, but I hope it's helpful.

Do Creationists reject science? (http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/2008/02/04/do-creationists-reject-science)

Chart of different belief systems regarding Origins (http://www.originscience.com/origin-views-comparison-chart.htm), obviously done by a secular source.

Wow, I've always been torn on this issue and never knew there were grey areas (which even have names!!!). I'm glad to know that there is a term for my beliefs.

BTW - I know this doesn't answer any questions, but I was so happy to know that it is acceptable to believe in both.
