I would like to find something that I can kind of use as a spine. We like to lapbook, but I need something that kind of keeps me on track. Would Considering God's Creation fit the bill for a 7, 9 & 10 year old? Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Kristine

Not sure if this will really answer your questions or not, but...

CGC, is a "workbook" approach. If you/your kids LOVE workbooks and worksheets they would do well.

You can use it to supplement another program as well. Just using the units and they fit whatever else you may be using.

Hope that shed a little light on CGC for you. :o

Thanks Audrey, you know I have a book called Life Science with Real Books and I think I just need to buckle down and use it and make up some lap books. That's what will probably make us most happy and I won't have to spend anything.

Blessings,
Kristine

We are lapbooking our way through science this year and it has been a lot of fun. I am comfortable with very informal science until 8th grade so we don't really even have a spine. This year's focus is life science. The boys and I browsed HOAC and chose several lapbooks that pertained to life science. We chose Living Organisms, Animal Classification, Predators of the Deep, Germs, Healthy Bodies, and Botany. I go through them ahead of time to coordinate United Streaming videos and reading assignments. For reading, we are using mostly The Usborne Science Encyclopedia, Kingfisher Animal Encyclopedia, and especially DK Nature Encyclopedia as well as some internet research. This has been a great science year.

Oh, yes. Considering God's Creation would be perfect for lapbooks. It's full of cut and paste activities!
