...it's half my fault BUT still....

I ordered from amazon.com.

I received an email saying the order shipped. I then realized that I hadn't changed my home address (just moved) on amazon but...it was changed with USPS which was supposed to be shipping my books.

Now the track & confirm site via USPS says my package was delivered in Kentucky - I live in FL (the move was within the state)!!

How do I track it down? I get phone trees and get nowhere using a ph # for USPS. Shouldn't USPS just have forwarded my boxes?

help!!

Well, I'd get on the Amazon website and search out their customer service number. They have this COOL thing where you press a button/link and it dials your home phone and POOF! You're connected to a real live rep.

In my case, USPS crushed my box, and included in the mess was a note saying, "Gee. We're sorry." But half of what I'd ordered wasn't in there! I didn't know what to do: It didn't have anything to do with Amazon at all. But they're easier to contact than the Big Giant Postal Juggernaut, so I tried them first. Within minutes, a brand new package was winging its way to me.

I was totally impressed. Good luck! :001_smile:

I'd definitely call customer service - they're usually really good to deal with and will probably reship your package.

I did an online registry of $100 worth of baby gifts to a good friend of dh's in Florida. I was so excited about all the cool stuff I bought them. Dh informs me that night it wasn't the right address. I showed him the registry and there was some confusion about Miami and Miami Beach. ugh. my fault completely.

Amazon said they hoped they would call when they received it but they didn't. but Amazon credited me back my money. :D

I ended up buying a boring gift card to babies r us.

but the fact they gave me my money back after I made the mistake rocks!

so yes, call and see if they can call UPS or USPS to go get the package and resend to you. From experience I know UPS charges a $10 pick up fee for these mistakes. Luckily my last time mailing to the previous address I sent a friend to steal it off the porch :tongue_smilie:

Wondering what finally happened once you contacted them. I once sent my brother a bunch of stuff from Amazon, but to the wrong address. It was the address he gave me, but he transposed the numbers. He tried to hunt them down, but the books never did show up. I contacted Amazon and let them know what happened and they refunded my money immediately even though it was my fault. Amazon rocks.
