My dad, who is a pharmacist...says this would be fine. At most she will be drowsy.

My dd9 takes allegra and benadryl--they are different things, just as former poster said--and always good to ask a pharmacist, as she did. Walgreens, if you are ever in doubt, has a 24 hour pharmacy almost everywhere, as far as I know.

I always look at the ingredients to see if the active ingredients are the same, if not then they can be combined.

I asked a few times, and they said don't make a habit of it, but it's OK once in a while. Even though they are both antihistimines, they work differently, so it's quite the same as taking a double dose of the same med. They warned me of the sleepy factor, and also, they told me it'd be better to spread them out. So DS takes zyrtec at bed time, therefore taking the Benedryl would be better to have it in the a.m.
FYI, I was told by a couple of dr.'s that Benedryl, when taken for more that a week or so, can be slightly addictive. I used to "use" it more on my kids, but now use it less b/c of that comment. (My DD6 also needs it when she's sick - no other cold remedies work on her congestion).
