REAL Science- Pandia- any users

Has anyone used REAL Science from Pandia for early elem? Thoughts? What do you supplement with?

We used both Life (boys were K, 1st) and Earth and Space (boys were 1st and 2nd). We really enjoyed them.

I think they do need plenty of read alouds with good color photographs. There is a small list of recomended books, but these are topics that even poor libraries often have plenty of options for.

I don't know that much else is needed for early elementary. I think they are good programs. BUT, I also think they are being very generous with the age recomendations. I don't think Life would be very good for much older then 2nd grade, and maybe Earth for a year longer. I sure don't think a 4th grader would learn much from Life as written.

I think they have great hands on ideas for these early ages, they each have one notebook/lapbook project, and a short page of reading for each Unit.
