DD and I followed the CG routine using diluted Burt's Bees shampoo (we were due for a wash anyway) and conditioner and Aussie "Aussome" Volume gel. I couldn't believe DD's hair -- it was beautiful! I pin-curled the top layer last night and again this morning after I wet it down with a conditioner/water spray, and it's very pretty. (I have short, layered hair, so mine looks like I just got a perm, but I'm working on it.)

All that to ask this question: Are any of you CGs dancers, or mothers of dancers? DD has ballet each Tuesday and has to wear her hair up, and I don't exactly know how to handle that. If we even touch her hair before it's dry, the curls pull right out. Do I just wet it and comb it back, or will that mess up the training of her curls? Is there another way to style it that would be appropriate for dance?

Can you pull it back, so it's straight around the face and the curls spring out in back? I have different hair, but I used a plastic device that was shaped like a large "O" out of zigzag plastic. You open the "O" and wrap it around your head like a headband, then pull it back so the "O" gets smaller, the fasten it together again in as small a circle as you like. This would pull curls taut on the front and sides, but leave the back free to curl.

Have no idea what the little thingy is called, but it's with all the hair supplies at discount dept stores.

Good luck!
