A friend's son who is a freshman in High School is struggling with his Geometry and the teacher (PS) is not terribly helpful or the son is too afraid to ask for help. His mother hasn't figured out yet which is the case.

I remembered from the old board that several people had suggestions regarding a website that tutors in math.
I know there used to be something on Lial's website that went along with the Lial book but I don't know what book they are using in PS.
Is there a website with *general* help?

TIA

It's probably ALEKS math, the one many people recommend. I haven't used it yet myself, but I understand it is quite good, and reasonably priced. It is a web-based program.

It has general helps and links to other sites.

ALEKS is good for a review program--but not for tutoring on an 'as needed' basis' as you do not have that much control over the concepts you can practice.

I'll try to post more links as I remember them.

Ask your friend what part of Geometry he is having difficulty in--proofs or applicaltion...as than can make a difference too.

Some school systems offer homework hot lines, web sites or even call in TV shows on cable.

This site has video's by Edward Burger that look very helpful. Unfortunately, Edward Bruger doen't do the geometry videos though.
