What are you planning to do special during the summer that is educational/ fun/ and maybe schoolish?
Any special projects or studies?
Any special literature assignments?
We are using TOG, and while I plan to continue during the summer, I'd love to get some ideas of special things to do along with it.

We don't really school during the summer, but both boys participate on our neighborhood summer swim team. My older son also does long course swimming in summer. Both do at least one or two theatre camps during the summer and my oldest will also intern there this year. My youngest generally does at least one horseback riding camp, too. Not sure yet what this summer will hold, but that's been our pattern the last 3 years or so,

This summer I'm hoping to have my dc start on projects for the science fair and history fair. It's so hard to incorporate these projects once school is already ticking along. This year, when we stopped structured schooling for a Christmas break, I had my dc work on a history fair project. It worked really well. They stayed busy in the morning, could focus on their project without other distractions and had only details to finish when we started back up with structured work in January.

Last year we did a unit study all about trains for my 3 train fanatics, but I don't know what we'll do this year. We'll finish everything we're doing now about the second week of June.

We plan on doing a unit study on "The Hobbit" for ds 10. We will also continue with math skills.
Yesterday, my ds10 gave me a summer project. I am supposed to solve the Rubic's cube without help. I thought that was great, him giving me an project.
