I have a great dark purple sweater that got lavender fuzz balls on it from the lining of my jacket. I need to defuzz it. I tried a lint roller but it didn't help at all. I figure I need to buy a sweater shaver but don't know what to look for in a good one. Do you have any suggestions or another way to defuzz it?

They make "sweater shavers" (which sounds dirty as I type it) - our Walgreens has them.

1. She'd try lifting the fuzzballs with strong, tacky tape (stickier than lint rollers).
2. She'd literally, gently, shave the sweater with one of those ladies' disposable razors (like Daisy or Bic).
Hope you find something that works.

I just "shaved" one of my husband's vest yesterday with one of my old shavers then used tape to gather all the fuzz. I hope that this helps.

on my girls sweaters several times. I just lightly run over it and it shaves them off. You can try on a small spot and see if it works for you.

There is also such a thing as a sweater stone that works as well as the razors, but it's surface is so much bigger it works faster and there is no chance of cutting the material. They last forever. It is made of a very porous pumice. I have seen them at Target and the fabric store. I would call around or order online.

I also saw these at the yarn shop and had wondered if it was worth it. Once I have a car again I think I will go get one as I have several sweaters in need and shaving to me is a pain.
