Guess what DH and I bought last night and are hiding from the dc till Christmas...

A Wii. Last night he and I played for two hours after the kids fell asleep. We had a great time. It's much more fun than I thought it would be. Anyway, we're hiding it in our room until Christmas morning when we'll officially give it to the kids.

At first I felt guilty, but then I remembered someone posting last year about their Wii not functioning right on Christmas morning and how disappointed her kids were. So, in reality, I'm just doing them a favor and making certain that everything's in working condition when their time comes to play. :)

Well, we bought our Wii last fall with the intention of it being our family present. We lasted about 3 weeks (into October) before we gave in.

Christmas was all Wii games.

A few weeks ago or so, I ordered Rock Band from Amazon ($139). It was delivered to my dh at work. He sneaked it home and it's in our closet. I think we will need to get it out when I can get rid of the kids for an evening. You know...to make sure it works and all. Quality control ;P

I'm thinking of going ahead and doing the same thing, actually. I'm afraid they won't be easy to find at Christmas, or the price will be jacked up.

The thought of you and your dh waiting for some private time in the bedroom to play Wii is hysterical. Sounds like something that would happen around here. :tongue_smilie:

I am having a good laugh here... we tried to do the same thing. My dh lasted exactly 24 hours before finding something to celebrate so we could use it before Christmas. This was about a month ago. We jumped through hoops to have it arrive here unnoticed and then we couldn't stand knowing it was in the basement. It was lonely. :D

If we had a 2nd tv somewhere discreet, we may have kept it for ourselves, but alas, we are all celebrating Christmas in July!! We are the laughing stock of many friends who had placed friendly bets that dh couldn't make it!! They know him too well!!

Enjoy it and be sure not to wake the kids with your late-night competitive tennis! :lol:

Well, actually, wait until you and DH have had plenty of time to enjoy it yourselves!

Then hand it over, and get Wii games for Christmas gifts! There will be plenty of new ones out by the end of the year!
