I am pretty much set on what I will be using with my soon to be second grader, but still am unsure of my 8th grader. Please share what you will be using.

Thank you and Blessings, Dee in FL

ps It took me a while to figure out the boards had completely changed and were over here. I wonder if I was the only one, or if others are still searching as well. :)

I have a dd who is officially registered as an 8th grader this year because of a summer birthday, but many of her classes will count for high school. Here is her current year:

Bible: Old Testament, using primarily Greenleaf Guide to the OT; devotional material from church; memory work

Math: Saxon Alg. II

Science: Apologia Physical Science (with 7th grade ds); Science Roots (prep for biology next year)

Latin: Latin I through Florida Virtual School

English: Ancient lit list; Vocabulary for Enjoyment (Amsco); Calvert Spelling; IEW SWI-C and CC; Shakespeare Class

Logic: Intro to Logic, Nance and Wilson

History: Ancient history using primarily Speilvogel

Health: Total Health

Debate: NCFCA Debate Team and class

That's pretty much all of her academic work. She has some separate reading that doesn't correlate with ancient history and various extracurricular activities.

HTH,
Lisa

Thanks, gals! :) This gives me a good base from where to start and what to choose. Kendra, my guy is not an academic guy either, and your line-up looks like it will fit his personality well. Okay, let me go and make my list.

Blessings, Dee
