My mother swears by it--it's all she uses.....:)
Someday I will have my own set. I would love to have some Caphalon Cookware... ::drool::

I think it's okay, but I don't love it.
Then again, when I got my Calphalon I was under the delusion that non-stick was better, so I got that kind. And as each piece deteriorates I am replacing them with All-Clad. I lovelovelove my All-Clad.

a large flat skillet (Target on sale!) that is good and heavy and (so far) unwarped like the cheapo ones I buy each year from Walmart. Perfect for pancakes! Told hubby it would save $$$ in the long run since I wouldn't be replacing the durn thing every year.

It's not the non-stick stuff. Pro's: it heats up well and cleans up well. Cons: It's heavy, it's a pain to store and the edges of mine have been chipped up over the years.
I also have some Revereware and cast iron and a Calphalon skillet from Target. My cabinets are too crowded, so any duplicate sizes of Calphalon will be the first to go to Goodwill. Revereware stacks nicely in my cabinets - Calphalon does not.

I really like the pieces I have. I have a couple of stir fry pans, a grill pan, 8 qt stock pot, ginormous saute pan with lid (my favorite thing ever), larger pan with lid. A couple are coated, most are not. I have one of the all silver pans, the stock pot is semi-coated on the bottom, and the stir fry pans are the black (non coated). I really love cooking in them. I hope to get more someday.

We got a large set of the pots and pans when we got married so....it's going on 12 yrs and they are still in real good shape!

Any tips about how to care for them?

Well, I don't put mine in the dishwasher. Except for the stainless pot. They get washed by hand. The grill pan could be a big pain, but soaking it in warm water with a bit of Dawn cuts the yuckies wonderfully. And no scrubber things on the coated pans.
What pieces are you interested in? There are quite a few types: coated, not coated, stainless, etc. It is really nice to have decent cookware if you enjoy cooking.

I have several pieces of Calphalon cookware and I like them just fine. I read the comments on amazon and bought the stuff that was the most highly recommended -- I don't recall which kind I bought, though.

Dh has a program at work that allows him to trade incentive points for certain items, one of which is a 10 piece set of Calphalon cookware. I think it's the non stick kind ; )

I have a hard anodized(sp?) set. We switched from Revere ware and I love them. They wash clean very easily, just soak in warm water for messy pans. I had our set for about three years and they still look new.

I have some. I have a traditional non-stick omelet pan which I use mainly for eggs and pancakes. I really liked it at first. But then my parents were here for Thanksgiving, I had the stomach flu so my dad used that pan. Even though it was non-stick (and therefore I had not used any fat on it at all - it truly was non-stick), he was still adding butter and oil and stuff the the eggs he'd make for the kids. It can't be run through the dishwasher and he didn't hand wash it well enough. so consequently it isn't very non-stick anymore, unless I put some kind of oil on it. Also, a metal spatula was used on it which has left little nicks in it. :(
Now, I recently came into some of the Calphalon ONE, pans that I really love. They are the infused anodized surface. I have been using those over and over. Love them.

Oh, and I hand wash all of it. Though I think the hard anodized set I have is dishwasher safe. I know that any kind of spatula can be used - metal or not because it's infused rather than coated. If it's a non-stick coating, you need to for sure hand wash only, and be sure to use rubber or silicone or whatever for utensils. And if you use an oil on it with your cooking, make sure you really clean it off well.
And please excuse all of the typos in both messages! :o

Yes, and a Dyson vacuum cleaner!
Dh can't believe I'd rather have cookware then electronics : )

And no scrubber things on the coated pans.
When you say no "scrubber things" does that include plastic "scrubber things"?

Hi Janna!
I have a Calphalon griddle that I have abused through the years - recently when I cleaned my oven on a high temp cleaning cycle, I put the griddle in there too. Two hours later - it looked brand new! I couldn't believe it : )
I seasoned it again, and am trying to take better care of it now.
Might be worth a try?

Hi there -
I was wondering where you were : )

I don't own Calphalon (sp?) but have used it elsewhere and wasn't particularly impressed. I didn't give it a great deal of consideration when I was buying new cookware. I went with Swiss Diamond which is by far my favorite cookware ever. I rarely use my Le Creuset now that I own Swiss Diamond. You may want to check it out.
